Keyboardless Samsung Galaxy S2 also arriving at AT&T?

The tale of AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy S II has had an interesting twist: it’s like the second largest US mobile company plans to introduce two versions of the smartphone.

One of them is the SGH-i927, the QWERTY-equipped device that we’ve seen yesterday. And also the other one seems to be this keyboardless phone that has just appeared over at Android Central.

Reportedly, this handset is AT&T and Galaxy S II top quality, and is currently in testing at AT&T. Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and a WVGA display are the only features that have been unveiled until now. The smartphone certainly resembles the original Galaxy S II, although its corners are a bit more rounded, and there’s no hardware home button.

AT&T and Samsung usually supplies some official details on their Galaxy S II-related plans soon. Hopefully, both the QWERTY and non-QWERTY editions will make it to the market.

SaskTel’s not to be missed, “Samsung Galaxy S 2″ campaign

Bell and Virgin listed this “Android Smartphone” at $169.99 for a 3-year, but SaskTel declared a sensational difference in prices. In their pr release they noted that the “Samsung GALAXY S 2 is available at any SaskTel Store or SaskTel Approved Dealer for $79.99 on a 3 year voice and data term”. Definitely a surprising price.

Over in Saskatchewan currently the Galaxy S II officially released. Some SaskTel stores and dealers have obtained their stock, but other locations will have to wait until early in a few days (better to call your local store and ask). Right now about that 3-year contract cost… it’s real! We’ve been informed the $79.99 cost is a special promo until August 1st, afterwards it’s going to increase “to a new price tag to be determined”. Other prices are $249.99 on a 2-year, $449.99 on a 1-year and $619.99 outright.

Is the Samsung Galaxy S II 4G and Samsung Infuse 4G coming to Canada?

Samsung is preparing to unload the Samsung Galaxy S2 4G and Samsung Infuse 4G to Canadians, the two stunning and also have impressive specifications. It’s sometimes known that from the recent Rogers deployment of their LTE network that the Samsung LTE smartphone will be releasing by the end of the season too. It also seems that there may be an additional powerhouse Samsung coming to our glorious land… the Samsung Hercules. On Facebook the question was asked if the Hercules could be making it’s way up here or otherwise, the response was simple: “We will have more info within the next couple of months”. Certainly a good indication that release of this Android could be on the horizon.

Features of the Hurcules are rumoured to have similar design functions as the Galaxy S II and have a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen (resolution of 480×800). This is expected to run Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread, come with a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 16GB internal ROM and 1GB internal RAM, supports NFC, 42Mbps capable, 8 mp camera that records 1080p videos in addition to a front facing camera for video calling.

There’s still a lot of confirmation needed here (from the actual tool and carrier perspective), but would be cool to see this become a reality.

Long ago when, we heard that the Samsung galaxy s II would be headed to the U.S. as the Within on Sprint, Attain on AT&T and Function Verizon and also, since then, only AT&T’s device has released. It’s also led many including myself to question whether or otherwise the phone would ever come to the usa. These images aren’t verification of that, but they are a superb sign that a release may be getting closer.

Samsung Galaxy S 2

As you can tell, the phone obviously resembles the Galaxy S II and has both a Samsung and Sprint logo alongside the 8MP camera. The pictures reveal little else but it seems as though those wanting to get this phone can finally breathe a little easier.
