It’s a powerhouse Prizefight between two of the best 4G phones that Android has to offer. Will the Droid Bionic bring enough punching power to take out the Phonon 4G? Find out!

Verizon Motorola Droid Bionic to get Netflix support at release
About a week ago, Verizon Wireless set up a Motorola Droid Bionic page on its website, hinting at an imminent launch of the uber-delayed new Moto smartphone. Basically we still cannot say just when the Bionic will hit the shelves (it will happen sometime in August), we have a piece of info that could please some potential customers: the new Moto Droid will have Netflix support at launch – much like the LG Revolution, released back in May.
Droid-life comes with an photo suggesting that Netflix support has been put into another two 4G Android smartphones from VZW, namely the Samsung Droid Charge, and the HTC Thunderbolt.
Netflix aside, the Droid Bionic should include a 4.3 inch qHD screen, dual-core processor, 8MP camera, and, hopefully, Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
August is also the month when the Samsung Galaxy S II will arrive in the US (and likely in Verizon’s inventory). So unless you really really want the Moto Droid Bionic, it would be a good idea to check out Sammy’s dual-core offer, too, before buying yourself a new smartphone.
New Motorola Droid Bionic looks in Best Buy promotion
The very long overdue, recently redesigned Motorola Droid Bionic has lastly broken cover, revealing its sexy new looks within an upcoming Best Buy flyer that is likely to be available for public consumption in the next few weeks.
Also it looks like the Motorola Droid Bionic intends to make quite the bang using its newfound self as the ad uses quite colorful language:
“With the ferocious force of Verizon 4G LTE, the Droid Bionic is an all-powerful, unstoppable machine.”
The Best Buy promo then procedes to highlight the unique features of the Motorola Droid Bionic i.e. dual core cpu, 4G LTE radio, HDMI mirror mode, video chat (dual cameras) and finally “pull files from your computer wirelessly”.
What’s lacking? That rumored 4.5-inch monster screen which we are sure Best Buy might have mentioned if it was true. So it appears like the Motorola Droid Bionic may be sticking with the 4.3-inch screen, a norm for todays’ large Androids.
Unfortunately without signs of a release date on the promo, we’ll still have to depend on speculations suggesting that the Motorola Droid Bionic will be in shops early August.
10 Future Android Devices We simply Can’t Wait For
A whole lot and strong Android devices are already out, but–by using our AndroidTabletPcReview.com machine–we can easily see the future of Android, and it looks awesome. Likely to arrive within the year are 3D phones, 4G speeds, and a shiny new Android OS.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (LTE)
The Wi-Fi-only Samsung Galaxy Tab may be debuting June 17th, but we are getting excited about the LTE version coming sometime this summer. Using its razor-thin design and crisp screen, this Android-based tablet is a worthy competitor to Apple’s iPad 2. Add Verizon’s blazingly fast LTE network in to the mix, and you’ll have a tablet that will be unequalled when it comes to browsing the net on the go.

Motorola Droid 3
Once the original Motorola Droid released in late 2009, it was the first in a new generation of Android devices. Now, nearly 3 years later, the upcoming Droid 3 is shaping as much as be a worthy successor to the Droid name. What with expected features such as a better keyboard, a high-res qHD display, and a dual-core processor chip, we can’t wait to obtain our hands on the Motorola Droid 3.
Note: The term qHD refers to a screen resolution of 960 pixels by 540 pixels arranged in a 16:9 aspect ratio. This quality is one-quarter of a full HD 1080p frame (thus the name) and it is three-quarters of a 720p frame.
Motorola Droid Bionic Will go Loyal, Releases July 4th Weekend?
Motorola Droid Bionic, probably the most expected Android phones headed to Verizon wireless carrier lately had its release date pushed back due to some “enhancements”. Now a current leak shows that those enhancements may be in the way of a bigger 4.5-inch display and new processor chip.
However what still remains in the dark is really a release date. Now PopHerald believes they’ve the scoop on it and speculates that the Motorola Droid Bionic goes for sale before July 6, the last day of the free 4G LTE mobile hot spot feature being offered before Big Red rolls out an update to remove the offer.
Therefore the expected date seems to be the long July 4th weekend that will no doubt be a time for shoppers looking for deals. Although it was previously expected that Verizon customers would have a tough decision picking between the Motorola Droid Bionic and Verizon iPhone 5, the recent no-show of the Apple device at WWDC 2011 leaves the Motorola Droid Bionic with no other major rivals except probably for the Samsung Function (Verizon Samsung Galaxy S2).
İn the end did see the Motorola Droid Bionic at CES, Motorola Mobility’s announcement that they could be enhancing the dual-core Android implies that we have no solid features yet.
Motorola Droid Bionic & Bootloader: Jailbroke on Launch or Not
We’ve been providing you with all the news about the Motorola Droid Bionic visiting Verizon and although it’s been fairly of a saga we lately told how the release looks closer after leaked out images of the new design and specs were reported.
However today you want to turn our attention to whether the Droid Bionic bootloader will arrive unlocked or otherwise.
Back in April OSM’s “Tim Ollason” reported on Facebook Questions asking Motorola Android users about what they many wanted and the the surface of the list was headed by an unlocked bootloader. We also recently told how HTC appear to be hearing their customers as the company has just announced that they’re to abandon their bootloader policy and will not be locking bootloaders on their devices, which met with much rejoicing amongst those who prefer to customize their smartphones.
Going back to Motorola, just a few days ago the company announced a new impressive smart phone for Sprint, the “Motorola Photon 4G“, which is much the same in many ways to the upcoming Droid Bionic.
We’ve given you some specs on the Photon 4G and a closer look with video therefore we also spoke about whether the Photon 4G would have a locked or unlocked bootloader.
Our Tim Ollason told how early reports implied that Motorola too have been listening to their customers which the Photon 4G would have an unlocked bootloader however further communication from Motorola said this would affect phones in late 2011 and did not apply to the Photon 4G, a move that will undoubtedly disappoint many.
Where do we stand on the Droid Bionic. Adam Mills over on Gotta Be Mobile formerly reported on how the Photon 4G would come with an unlocked bootloader and said how “awesome” this news was for those awaiting the Droid Bionic as it made it much more likely the Droid Bionic too would be unlocked, which would ‘instantly catapult it to the top of wish lists everywhere.”
However Mills then noted with resignation that Motorola had now said that the Photon 4G wouldn’t now have the unlockable/relockable software necessary. Obviously this also makes it more likely that the Droid Bionic’s bootloader will be locked when they get it this summer.
Over on Wireless and Mobile News another report exploring the previous news on an unlocked bootloader for the Photon 4G says that this will also likely apply to the Droid Bionic, so it looks like more let down there too. The report also tells more on the apparent fading out of MotoBlur. If the Droid Bionic does indeed arrive in the summer not surprisingly and not late 2011 it’s looking less and less likely then that its bootloader will be unlocked, which will surely disappoint a lot of people.
Have you been awaiting the Droid Bionic and would you think again if the bootloader is locked? Maybe that wouldn’t make a jot of difference to only you just want to get your hands on the Bionic after all this time? Tell us your thoughts by sending us your comments.
