AT&T and Best Buy start getting Pre-Orders on February 17th
The large and awful 5.3-inch phone/tablet that’s been quite popular abroad has lastly made it onto US soil, well kind of. You can’t officially get it yet but you can pre-order this. When you pre-order, it’s set for delivery on February Seventeenth, so it’s a little bit to late to buy for Valentine’s day.
The Note is large, bad, and just what a lot of folks are looking for, something the size of the Dell Streak however with newer, faster hardware. It’s huge as a phone, but has enough size to it that it could function as a tablet for a lot of. The lure of carrying one device to cover both use cases is bound to attract quite a few folks, and the fact that LTE data is built into the unit is certainly a big plus, but the downside of LTE is for those of you who were not grandfathered into unlimited data. The rest of the specs are certainly no slouch either. That 5.3-inch Super AMOLED screen has a 1280×800 HD quality, there’s a 1.5GHZ dual-core processor (word is it’s the same Qualcomm as in the Skyrocket), a 2500mAh battery, 1GB of RAM, and Samsung’s excellent 8MP camera all running Android 2.3.5.
In the Galaxy Note we’ve seen the battery last pretty long for a huge 5.3-inch device but then that has on a GSM/HSPA+ device. This one is arriving with LTE so it’s bound to make battery life a bit shorter. We all know how awesome the battery life is on Verizon’s 4G LTE devices right? Fairly horrible to be exact. Don’t forget to check out our hands on of the AT&T Galaxy Note from CES recently in the mean time.
The Samsung Galaxy R now available in england, can be yours for £409.99
The Samsung Galaxy R is simply nothing but a less expensive Galaxy S II. In order so that it is cheaper, obviously, a few high-priced components that can be based in the Galaxy S II are absent. But overall, the Galaxy R is a good smaller brother to the Galaxy S II.
Samsung chose to announce the Galaxy R back in July, as we had seen a series of leaks about this. The Galaxy R is one of the first devices to activity Samsung’s new naming scheme, and the “R” apparently stands for “royal” and/or “refined”. Make of that what you wish.
The Samsung Galaxy R has lastly become available in the UK. Popular electronics retailer Expansys now has some in stock. The price being asked is £409.99 for a SIM-free and unlocked unit, and shipping is free.
If you’re interested, check out Expansys now and add a Galaxy R to your basket.
The Samsung Galaxy R has a 4.2-inch 480×800 SC-LCD touchscreen, a dual-core 1 GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, a 5 MP autofocus camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording, 8 GB of built-in storage, 1 GB of RAM, 2 GB of ROM, microSD card support, HSPA, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and a 1,650 mAh battery. It works Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top.
Google Droid Prime (Samsung Nexus Prime) Release Date: Oct/Nov
İn fact with gadgets gradually inching their way towards a faithful release date, gossips and leaks start growing in numbers. Even though just hinted at a few months ago, the Google Nexus Prime or Droid Prime has received some more attention in the shape of another rumor – may the Droid Prime come with a full QWERTY slide-out keyboard?
This latest reports points towards some rumors and speculations occurring in the same dark alleys, mentioned in a previous Google Nexus Prime post. Tom Fleming was the one starting this whole new wave, with his line, and I quote, “the one with the keyboard is what I enjoy”. Now this didn’t clarify things all that much and it is way too soon to tell if the upcoming Google Nexus Prime will come in a touchscreen-only format as well as a QWERTY equipped version or if we will be getting only the model with a keyboard.
Another part which might hint towards this could be very well connected to the world’s first Android device, the T-Mobile G1 as well as to one of the very famous devices out on the market still, the mighty Motorola Droid (Milestone for us Europeans).
These really brought forth the full potential of the platform and created a “look” for true core Android handhelds and up to this day, I still prefer QWERTY sliders to regular touchscreen-only devices. Anything else isn’t known about the Google Nexus Prime other than a rumored 720p display, TI OMAP dual-core processor and of course Ice Cream Sandwich to top it all off.
There have been a number of rumors regarding the Google Nexus Prime release date, yet the latest development murmurs that the new Nexus device will be landing with Verizon starting November 3 and that a world release is hiding right around the corner of that date. However, most information did point towards the release date for the Nexus Prime being set for sometime around that date (end of October, early November) but until we don’t have any official confirmation, feel free to slap an “R” over this one.
Stay tuned in for additional and check back as we’ll keep you posted on this and much more!
Thanks Electronista for letting us in on this new Droid Prime gossip.
Sony Ericsson Live and Xperia Arc S Coming To 3G
The primary new mobile phone the Sony Ericsson Live With Walkman (above) is a music phone that hopes to reinvigorate the Walkman brand, that has been in the shadows for a long time.
As you’d expect it has some dedicated music features which include a “Walkman Key” which gives direct access to your music. It also features Xloud technology which enables you to listen to music at high volumes without distortion . You can also share tracks you like with Facebook with the Sony Ericsson Live.
The rest of the smartphone isn’t too shabby either because it has a 3.2 inch touch-screen, 1GHz processor, 5 mega-pixel and runs on Android 2.3.
The Sony Ericsson Live With Walkman is launching this Autumn and will be available in White exclusively on Three.
The next new cell phone that’ll be coming to Three is “Xperia Arc S”, that is another Android powered smartphone.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S builds on all the best aspects of the original Arc and makes them even better. That means it now has a huge 4.2 inch Bravia touch-screen, a powerful 1.4 Ghz processor and a HDMI output.
However, the flagship feature of the Arc S is probably its 8.1 mega-pixel camera with an Exmor R sensor. The camera can record HD video which also has face-tracking technology and can take high-quality photos in any light conditions.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S may also be coming to Three this Autumn and will be available in a unique Gloss Black colour.
HTC Radar shows up on UK mobile site Orange UK
The Android HTC Radar has made its way onto UK mobile website “Orange UK” in the “Coming Soon” section. While no timeline is given for availability, it is a good sign that release is imminent. With a 3.8″ screen, 1GHz processor, and 5MP camera, it is meant to be a lower-price point to its overgrown counterpart, the Titan, and was shown to be a little behind it when the two were put through their paces recently. That being said, the Radar still proved to be a pretty nice addition to the HTC WP7 lineup when we took a look at it hands-on.
